Cancer-Free Lungs (CFL) is a non-profit organization dedicated to reducing the burden of lung cancer by providing knowledge and support through education, prevention and research.
Dr. Nasser Hanna and his wife, Amy Hanna, RN, founded Lungs For Life in March 2004. Dr. Hanna is a thoracic oncologist whose specialty is the study and management of all forms of lung cancer. Amy Hanna is a registered nurse with extensive experience in research and patient management. She is president of the organization.
In 2009, the name was officially changed to Cancer-Free Lungs. The primary role of the organization is the education of young people about the dangers of smoking through an in-classroom presentation and interactive discussion on the subject. CFL also hosts fundraiser walk/runs in Indianapolis and Fort Wayne each year to help spread the message about the burden of tobacco on the state of Indiana.
